Buy the stems to do your work…naaah
That’s a Beatport policy, if you don’t like it, just don’t enter the comp. I won’t too
It’s a bullshit to spent 4 dollars to enter the competition..
eh yeah, I feel like every remix contest that has ever existed on beatport is total bullshit. For example: the Mark Knight remix contest… “the winner” already had a release on Toolroom and Cr2, and if you listen to the winning mix, its not anything special. The mix down is good and it sounds nice and separated, but its pretty bland as a track. Especially compared to some of the other SIX HUNDRED remixes! Hopefully D-Nox and Beckers or Baroque will actually listen to the remixes and find some real talent and not just play it safe or give it to an already established producer on their label.
I am working hard to join in the bests artists to our findremix contests, the upcoming featured artist is a top producer (Cid Inc) indeed. And more pro featured artists are coming in… for example an artist involved with Renaissance…
All of these competitions will be always for free. That’s no question thing. But Beatport wants to win money, and they receive 600 remixes even charging the sample pack… so why they won’t do it? I am sure labels involved earn a % of that and that’s the point to them…
As I always say, if you don’t agreed, just don’t enter the comp, Findremix is your choice! Stay tuned this wednesday
Oh, and about the winner selection… some labels are banned to listing their contests here, like Nellie recordings:

Yeah I know, I wont enter the comp either. I just want to make it known to people who may have never entered such a contest that these sorts of things CAN and DO occur.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
